THE BENEFITS OF HAVING MULTIPLE BABIES
Receiving the gift of pregnancy is a blessing from God and it can be super exciting to prepare for motherhood. However, what do you do when the doctor announces that you're pregnant with multiples? The best thing to do is to NOT freak out and give God even more praise. You will hear over and over that being pregnant with multiples is a risk pregnancy, but we don't have to dwell on the negative. Here are some of the benefits of having multiple babies:
GOD CHOSE YOU TO RAISE MULTIPLES, THEREFORE IT'S YOUR SPECIAL GIFT.
Pregnancy is a gift. God chose you to carry and raise multiple humans at the same time, which means you can handle raising multiples. God doesn't add fear into anything. If you trust that God will give you a healthy pregnancy, delivery and children, then there is nothing to fear.
YOU LEARN FUN FACTS ABOUT CARRYING MULTIPLES:
It only takes one sperm to fertilize an egg and when the fertilized egg divides into two separate embryos, YOU'RE HAVING TWINS!
If your children are identical, they will share the exact same DNA. Same blood type, genetic structures and same placenta. They're even living in each others urine for 9 months (your kids can't get any closer than that).
If you're having fraternal twins, two sperms fertilizes two eggs which produces two genetically unique children. (Twins, but easier to tell them apart)
Whether you have identical twins or fraternal twins, their finger prints are always different. So if you don't know who's who, you will always have their fingerprints to identify them. Every single person living on this earth has their own identity.
There are 4 types of twins: Identical, fraternal, monochorionic twins (when twins share same placenta, but not an amniotic sac, which occurs 30% of pregnancies per year), and conjoining twins (two babies born physically connected to each other, which is very rare, fewer than 1,000 US cases per year).
FIRST TIME MOMS, WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RAISING AN "ONLY CHILD."
Some first time parents would rather have twins first because they may want to deal with just one pregnancy. Pregnancy isn't a walk in the park for many women, so having multiple children with just one pregnancy fulfills the family dynamic and no child is left out.
YOU WILL GET TO WATCH YOUR CHILDREN BE INSEPARABLE
You will feel joy watching them sleep peacefully in the same crib, cot, or basinet (since they're used to the body contact in the mother's womb) to watching them play, go through the ups and downs together, learn about each other, and grow up together. If you have other children, it's important to always make them feel equally loved and included.
IT WILL BE FUN PICKING MORE THAN ONE NAME
Name picking is fun, but I advise mothers to pick names that are different from each other instead of similar. You don't want to get too confused when calling your children.
GENDER REVEAL PARTY AND BABY SHOWER WILL BE TWICE AS MUCH FUN. PLUS, TWICE AS MANY GIFTS
God provides by giving you the family and friends that are here for you today. You and your babies will receive twice the love and support from them. Plus, it is more fun finding creative ways to plan a gender reveal party and baby shower for multiple babies.
YOU WILL RECEIVE A LOT OF ENCOURAGMENT WHEN EXPECTING MULTIPLES WHICH MAY HELP WITH FEAR
It is very normal to feel afraid, but again, pregnancy is a special gift that God made just for you. When risks occur, we may not hear the greatest news, however there is always a method to what God has planned for you. Praying for your pregnancy and your unborn babies is the best thing you can do. God always listens and if you believe in his word, then you should have nothing to worry about. Remember that God has all the control. Here are some of the risks:
Preterm labor (one of the higher risks).
Twin-to Twin transfusion syndrome, where one twin takes more than it's share of blood flow from the placenta.
Placental abruption, where the placenta detaches from the urine wall before delivery.
Gestational Diabetes, where your blood sugar may rise.
Risk of having a C-section.
Those are the common risks, however it doesn't mean those risks will happen to you. There are risks when expecting just one baby, which means that there are many odds in pregnancy. You need to keep your body healthy, always ask the doctor questions and most importantly TRUST GOD. Doctors may know what to do and how to perform, but God knows exactly what will happen and can control any situation. Plus, your family and friends are ready to take this journey with you. Enjoy every moment of motherhood with your multiples. It's truly a blessing.
DOUBLE THE JOY AND DOUBLE THE GLOW
Here is a beautiful newlywed couple who proudly shared their joy when finding out that they're expecting twins!
"Our Blessings! We prayed for one and God blessed us with two! He is so amazing in all that he does. It is so surreal that life is being created inside of me. To see those little limbs move about and to know that God see's fit for us to take on the role as parents now, is an amazing blessing in itself. God we're grateful!" -Crystal Cunningham/The Cunningham's

****Be sure to check out my baby bundle. New bundles will be out soon! Babies will grow rapidly and some babies are born outgrowing newborn clothes. Mothers receive way too many baby clothes that are mostly never worn, which can be a waste of money. Buy a bundle to save money and fatigue and then donate to Bundle & Baby when finished. You can also sell your never used/never worn clothes to Bundle & Baby.
