5 Reasons Why Fathers Should Be Appreciated More
Mother's Day is usually a big celebration/honor and so should Father's Day.
There are many present fathers out there today that love and support their family. Children need fathers in their life and we need to appreciate the hard work fathers put in for their family. It takes a little while for babies to recognize their fathers as the other parent, but once they do, you'll see it for yourself how much babies need their daddy. Sometimes we don't appreciate dads enough. Here are 5 reasons why Fathers should be appreciated more.
1. Daddys are usually more fun
Mommy's, we hate to say it, but it's true. Moms spend most of the time feeding, changing the diapers, cleaning, and rock their baby to sleep. Dads of course, help with nurturing too, but what they do best is playing and rough housing with their baby. Babies love to play rough with their dads because dads are naturally more thrilling. Though it can drive mothers crazy when dads play too rough, it's worth seeing that big bright smile on their child's face. Therefore, we should appreciate the joy Dads bring to their children.
2. Fathers provide for their family
After the baby's birth, the mommy is usually on maternity leave while the daddy is still earning income for his family. Which is one of the roles of a husband and a father. God made fathers to be the head of the household; meaning their responsibility is to cover and lead, so that their family will have security. "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God" (1 Corinthians 11:5 KJV). Even for single mothers, the father is most likely providing through child support until the child is 18. We must appreciate the hard work most dads put in, in order to cover their family.
3. Dads are very protective
Mothers, make sure you capture the first time dad holds your new baby for the first time. That moment is timeless. When daddy holds his new baby, for some reason, all you see is daddy showing protection over his child. It's one of the best moments for a mother to witness. Dads will become brave even when their terrified, to protect their family. Dads are warriors and will protect their child no matter what. Appreciate the protection you receive from Fathers.
4. Fathers are very useful
Appreciate the fact that you can rely on fathers to fix things such as baby toys, furniture, or anything that's needed for the household. Traditionally, boys inherit their father's last name, therefore some boys want to follow in their Father's footsteps and continue to make them proud. Plus, boys turn to fathers for valuable advice such as how to fix things, girls, sports, music, cars, learning how to make money and anything else necessary. As for girls, fathers are a tad bit over protective, but daughters usually understand that it's for their best interest. Girls need a protective dad. Plus, most young girls vision themselves walking down the aisle with their father until the actual day comes. Sons and daughters appreciate having a father around to look up to and cherish moments with.
5. A present father makes the family whole
A baby can instantly notice the balance of having a mother and a father in the household. It can sometimes become unbalanced in the household and for the child, when 1 parent isn't around (especially the father). It is important to do things as a family when both parents are present because the child may feel like there is nothing missing when they see both parents together. They feel whole. Fathers love to feel appreciated too, so we need to continue to show appreciation. A Father is needed in a child's life and we ought to be thankful and feel blessed to have fathers around. Do something very special for Father's Day. Take them out to a sporting event, take them shopping, take them to the country club, or do anything that he would love to do. A Father is part of what makes a happy family and a happy home.
